Ifrane is a small alpine town in the Mid-Atlas at 1,650 m elevation. Built in the 1930s by the French, it has chalets, snow in winter, and is nicknamed Morocco’s Switzerland. We stop for 30 min for coffee and photos — worth it.
Almost always. The Barbary macaques live in the cedar forest near Azrou and approach the roadside. Don’t feed them — it’s illegal and harms them. Photos from a respectful distance are fine.
